SECOND STAGE

Today’s stage has been tough, not so much by distance, but by a combination of very complicated terrain: sand and stones and very high temperatures between 43º and 47º.

The first part very well! I was going with the group ahead, keeping position between 7 and 9, but they were going very fast, they were very strong! I was able to keep pace until CP3 (Km. 19’5) after I had to loosen up, I lost them and two participants advanced, until CP4 (Km. 27) was holding good. From here I have lost all the energy, the heat and the soft sand have sunk me, it has cost me a lot to get there, I could hardly go to the descents and I have done almost the entire section walking.

Tomorrow I will have to manage energy and moisturize even more.

I have been 12 of the stage and also with the general, but if nobody leaves the race or the leader group puts the rhythm down I find it difficult to be among the top ten… even at the top 15.
