PRESENTAMOS UNA NUEVA AVENTURA DEL PROYECTO «WORLD NATURE EXPLORING» ENFOCADA A LOS EFECTOS DEL CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO EN LA PLACA DE HIELO DEL ÁRTICO Y SUS CONSECUENCIAS PARA TODO EL MUNDO
Siempre con el objetivo de descubrir una mirada más profunda sobre el entorno natural por dónde se realizará la aventura, comunicando y concienciando sobre el hábitat natural y su relación con la actividad humana, Albert Bosch afronta un nuevo reto en el Círculo Polar Ártico, que lo llevará a cruzar el golfo de Botnia, en el Mar Báltico, entre Finlandia y Suecia.
Acompañado de Pako Crestas y Pepe Ivars, saldrán el domingo día 26 de febrero del puerto finlandés de Oulu, para cruzar sobre el mar congelado, hasta el puerto de Kemi o Nikkala, según estén las condiciones del hielo. La travesía se realizará en total autonomía, utilizando unos esquís de Cross Country y tirando cada uno de un trineo con todo el material necesario; realizando entre 120 y 150 Km., en función del itinerario posible resultante. En total comportará entre 6 y 7 días de viaje (4 en plena mar), y una vez en el mar tendrán que soportar unas temperaturas entre los 20 y 40 grados negativos.
Este nuevo reto del proyecto WORLD NATURE EXPLORING aprovechará la aventura para dar a conocer en primera persona la situación del hielo del Ártico, su rápido retroceso debido al cambio climático, y los efectos que ello comporta tanto para la fauna de la zona como para nuestra sociedad, vivamos dónde vivamos.
Una travesía polar por el mar de este tipo, se podía hacer en total línea recta unos 10/15 años atrás, pero ahora el grosor de la capa de hielo es mucho más débil, y hace falta diseñar bien la ruta para escoger las partes dónde la superficie es más sólida y evitar los lugares dónde está por debajo de los 10-15 centímetros de grosor. Por esta razón en los últimos años han salido diferentes servicios de información del estado del hielo, similares a los que tenemos en nuestra latitud para hacer previsiones sobre el tiempo y condiciones de nieve en la montaña, o del estado del mar.
