The Japanese concept IKIGAI is equivalent to “reason to live” or have a purpose in life.
It is a word combined from two others: “Ikiru” (sense of life) and “Kai” (the realization of what one hopes for) and can help us answer the always complex (or simple) question of “What’s your reason for getting up in the morning?”
To find this reason or purpose, is recommended to start with these four questions:
– What do you love?
– What are you good at?
– What does the world need from you?
– What can you get paid for?
By answering these four questions and combining them together, we can find a road map that indicates the path to our passion, our profession, our vocation and our mission. And when we better know how to make these areas converge, the more we will approach the “IKIGAI”: our reason of being or purpose to live a full, happy and meaningful life.
There are never any secret formulas at all, but there are secrets to look for our own formulas for life, and this IKIGAI secret is quite interesting.
