- For optimal recovery, the body’s internal work on the availability and transport of the necessary elements to each cell of the affected areas is essential.
- Physical-Vascular Therapy (Microcirculation): boosting the circulation of red blood cells (which transport oxygen and nutrients) to the end of all the body’s capillaries.
- Hyperbaric Chamber: increases atmospheric pressure to provide pure oxygen that can reach areas of deficiency through the bloodstream.
For the general health of the body, and specifically for healing an injury, pain or fracture, it is essential that nutrients and oxygen can reach the affected parts perfectly.
For a good and quick recovery, the body’s internal work in availability and the transport of the necessary elements to each cell of the affected points is fundamental.
In this process, the experts who advise me have led me to discover two very powerful methods that can be worked on independently, but which are also complementary to each other, in case you want to apply both to maximise the whole evolution: Physical-vascular therapy (microcirculation), and the Hyperbaric Chamber.
1. PHYSICAL-VASCULAR THERAPY (Microcirculation): Treatment that I do myself at home with a BEMER home system (which is currently the only scientific technology in the world that can do it)
It emits a specific (and patented) signal that activates the vasomotion of the arterioles, boosting the circulation of red blood cells (which carry oxygen and nutrients) to the end of every capillary in the body. With age and disease or injury, this vasomotion movement becomes weaker and, as a result, blood does not flow properly from the arteries to the arterioles and capillaries, returning through the venules to the veins. As the distribution of blood is restricted to the ends of all the small vessels, there is little irrigation and, therefore, little supply of nutrients and oxygen; and metabolic waste is not well eliminated.
The bone that I have to consolidate is full of microvessels. And whether or not an abundant and nutrient-rich blood flow reaches it well or not is essential.
This involves me doing two 8-minute sessions a day of general Bemer for the whole body, and three or four 20-minute sessions specifically for the leg. But in the meantime, I can work or rest meanwhile, and it helps me to boost my recovery.

2. HYPERBARIC CHAMBER: It is based on increasing the atmospheric pressure (up to double the normal), and having a very high concentration of pure oxygen that can reach through the bloodstream to the areas where there is a deficiency. It directly stimulates the cells by different mechanisms, and therefore has a direct effect on the tissues and bones, as more oxygen arrives. It is therefore useful for bone and tissue recovery processes, performance, pain relief and analgesic response.
The effects are direct and very powerful as it generates different growth factors that favour the creation of blood vessels improving irrigation, optimises the secretion of anti-inflammatory mediators, activates cell regeneration, renews and optimises mitochondrial metabolism, as well as the activation of fibroblasts and the production of collagen among others.
I am lucky enough to have one of the best Hyperbaric Chambers in Europe close to my home (BHARIA Centre in Lloret de Mar, Girona). The treatment involves doing as many sessions as possible (optimally four a week), and I will do it as much as possible until my expedition at the end of August.

I recognise that this section of recovery is already a little more sophisticated and costly than the physical work, nutrition and hydration part; but I share it so that everyone is aware that these options exist, and how a comprehensive recovery can be tackled, depending on each person’s level of priority.
